Each year, the Delta Life Skills Summer Program hires Site Leaders, Assistant Leaders, Recreation Workers and Support Workers to work with children up to age 20 living with a range of disabilities.
Each program site is arranged according to participant ages and abilities. Site Leaders and Assistant Leaders can expect to be on-site from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday to Friday, and Recreation Workers and Support Workers are on site from 8:45 a.m. to 3:15 p.m., Monday to Friday.
Browse the Our Program page on this website, and have a look through our Parent Handbook to get a sense of what you can look forward to over the six-week program. Please note that before you apply, you should be comfortable with each activity we list, (swimming, for example) as it is important that each child participate and have help while doing so.
As fun as it can be to work in the Summer Program, it’s not glamorous. Our participants need your help and attention throughout the day for each of them to have a successful day, week, and summer. It’s meaningful work that has a direct impact on people’s lives – and it’s all about the kids – so we have a strict employment policy for dress code, work hours, time off participation, electronic devices and cell phones.
Applications for summer employment typically open in April – you can find out when, by following us on social media. Job descriptions will be posted on this page once the hiring process begins.
