Who We Are
Delta Life Skills Society is run by a dedicated group of volunteers.
Callum Lynch, Program Director.
Callum has been involved with Delta Life Skills Society since he was a teenager, initially as a Recreation Worker, and later working his way up to Assistant Leader and then Site Leader soon after. During his time as an employee, he has grown alongside many encouraging staff, appreciative parents and inspiring kids. These individuals have cultivated who he has become and helped bring to fruition his place within this field. Callum has been our Program Director since 2014 and brings a wealth of experience in special education. During the regular school year, Callum previously worked as an educational assistant. He is currently completing his final practicum to become a certified teacher with a special education designation.

Alison Howard, President.
Alison has served on the board since 2013 and started her tenure as President in 2016. Alison has two children, one of whom has special needs and has been participating in the Summer Fun Program since 2014. Alison first started volunteering with this program as a teenager, and also worked as a Recreation Worker for two summers. At that time, Alison never dreamed she would need to access the program for her future children, and she is very thankful to the foresight of the founders for creating such a wonderful summer camp experience for children with special needs, as well as the dedication and perseverance of all the volunteers who keep the program running. Alison is a designated accountant and is using her experience and skills to enhance and streamline the program in her term as President.

George Bates, Vice President.
George has served on the board since 2007 and has been the Vice President since 2010. A lifelong Delta resident, George’s passion for building a better community has greatly increased Delta Life Skills Society’s community recognition. George has been instrumental in our T-shirt sponsorship drive as well as a tireless supporter of our pub night. George has three children, one of whom has enjoyed the Summer Fun Program since 2006.
Jason Mui, Treasurer.
Jason joined the board in 2016 as Treasurer, looking to put his accounting skills to use as a volunteer. Jason received his CPA, CGA designation in 2015 and quickly decided he wanted to give back to the community. Jason is employed in Delta with the school district and enjoys supporting the Delta community.
Rae-Anne Schneider, Membership.
Rae-Anne joined the board in 2016. She has two children, one of whom has special needs and has attended the Summer Fun Program for the past four years. She has worked with the special needs community for over 20 years and currently works for a local non-profit. Rae-Anne’s work experience as well as home experience drove her to begin volunteering for the board in 2016 to further augment and improve the lives of children with special needs in our community. Rae-Anne is instrumental in ensuring that our membership is informed in a timely manner of upcoming volunteer events, fundraisers and the AGM, and sends our many important reminders during the year.

Catriona Gosbee, Secretary/Donor Recognition.
Catriona has been on the board since 2012, and right away she knew she had to do something to ensure this program continues to run. Her son looks forward to the end of school, because he knows he gets to hang out with his friends doing cool stuff all summer long as part of the Summer Fun Program. Catriona is responsible for ensuring that all donors, no matter what size, receive recognition for the support they give to Delta Life Skills Society, and she is always first to volunteer for our other fundraisers.
Lori Rowe, Director.
Lori has been a board member since 2007 and has served many different roles since then, including treasurer, volunteer coordinator, event planning and membership, to name a few! Lori works tirelessly behind the scenes at our pub night, ensuring everything goes off without a hitch. She also acts as the main contact and organizer of our other major fundraiser, our raffle. Lori has one child, who enjoys participating in the Summer Fun Program every summer.
Erin McElroy, Director.
Erin has been on the board since 2010 after her son enjoyed his first few summers with the Summer Fun Program. Erin has been instrumental in ensuring that the staff we entrust with our children during the summer are well cared for, by providing catering for the kickoff to Summer Fun, as well as ensuring that the year-end barbecue for staff and participants runs smoothly.
Lynae Schemenauer, Director.
Lynae has worked within the community for the last 18 years and has a family member with special needs who has attended the summer program for the past 2 years. She understands how imperative it is for these children to have the stability and routine the camp provides throughout the summer. The program allows for continued growth for these children and new friendships and allows the families to have community support. Lynae hopes to bring awareness and strengthen community support and partnerships.
