Who We Are

Delta Life Skills Society is run by a dedicated group of volunteers.

Callum Lynch, Program Director.

Callum has been involved with Delta Life Skills Society since he was a teenager, initially as a Recreation Worker, and later working his way up to Assistant Leader and then Site Leader soon after. During his time as an employee, he has grown alongside many encouraging staff, appreciative parents and inspiring kids. These individuals have cultivated who he has become and helped bring to fruition his place within this field. Callum has been our Program Director since 2014 and brings a wealth of experience in special education. During the regular school year, Callum previously worked as an educational assistant. He is currently completing his final practicum to become a certified teacher with a special education designation.

Alison Howard, President.

Alison has served on the board since 2013 and started her tenure as President in 2016. Alison has two children, one of whom has special needs and has been participating in the Summer Fun Program since 2014. Alison first started volunteering with this program as a teenager, and also worked as a Recreation Worker for two summers. At that time, Alison never dreamed she would need to access the program for her future children, and she is very thankful to the foresight of the founders for creating such a wonderful summer camp experience for children with special needs, as well as the dedication and perseverance of all the volunteers who keep the program running. Alison is a designated accountant and is using her experience and skills to enhance and streamline the program in her term as President.

In her spare time she plays saxophone and flute in an awesome jazz orchestra and does gigs all around Vancouver. She also works part time at Bath and Bodyworks so can always recommend a delicious smelling product to help boost your scent and day!

Erin McElroy, Fundraising Coordination.

Erin has been on the board since 2010 after her son enjoyed his first few summers with the Summer Fun Program. Erin has been instrumental in ensuring that the staff we entrust with our children during the summer are well cared for, by providing catering for the kickoff to Summer Fun, as well as ensuring that the year-end barbecue for staff and participants runs smoothly.

Wendy Fraser, Secretary.

Wendy joined the Board in 2019 for her son’s final two years of Summer Fun. She wanted to do a small part to help out with this amazing society as it fulfills such a need for parents of children with disabilities. Her son will sorely miss Summer Fun when he’s too old, as he’s had a great summer every year for the past 5 years. Wendy will miss having him count down the months and then days until Summer Fun started every year!
